Nevver forget

Novvember. Remember that? Of course you do. It's the month after Halloween, and before Christmas. Paulo Carreira hasn't forgotten either, and has this lovely little ship to show for it.
It's perhaps a bit too white, but it can work, as is the case here.

Blacktron Thievery Part 1

At some point in the past, I decided to make a Blacktron 2 ship in the style of all the other LEGO Space themes. May have been a suggestion by my brother.

To start things off, I clearly had to start at the beginning, With good ol Classic Space, and the Galaxy Explorer specifically.
The Galaxy Scoundrel, formerly a Galaxy Explorer class ship of small renown, it now serves as a command vessel in the Blacktron Fleet.
I really feel like I captured the essence of the Galaxy Explorer in this MOC, and when aggie_92 built an LDD version of this ship in actual Classic Space colours, it looked right at home.
I could have sworn I posted this ship already, but didn't see it. At this point this ship is rather old now.

SHIPtember is already in the rearview

But that didn't stop Robert Ward from posting this.
This is the first time, outside of one of my own builds, where I have seen a large Blacktron ship use the cockpit style enlarged from the sets. really wish people would do that more often.
While I really like the front, I'm not fully sold on the back. But each builder has their own likes and dislikes.

Blacktron's stole my summer

Summer came and went by so fast. I hadn't even realized it had been over 3 months since my last post. Here's a micro ship by Geoff Horswood to remind you of the Blacktron.

Ready for inspection

Looks like we have an invasion on some planet about to commence. Builder Dean Thorpe has assembled a few of his creations together in a nice little diorama.

Now that's a snub nose

This fighter, built by a younger brother of mine, brings to mind the phrase "Snub nosed Fighter" used in numerous Star Wars novels.

What I like most is the side by side pilots in the cockpit. they look very snug. Let's hope they are buddies.

You can check out his webcomic Randomly Assembled for the occasional Blacktron appearance!

Never done with remakes

Spacerunner strikes again, but this time with the original Blacktron. We have here his Lucky Wolf, clearly inspired by 6894 Invader

What really caught my attention was the use of the trans red panels as the rear wings. Works really well. the size is a bit deceptive at first, too. Didn't realize that it was the Benny SSS cockpit. I thought it was the smaller version. That retro robot is also adorable, if Blacktron is allowed to be.

Watch out for the thagomizer cannons.

Blacktron

Dinosaurs.

Now put the two together.

Sorry, Geoff Horswood beat you to it.

Time to put the Rovers back in the Space Garage

Febrovery has moved along, and Blacktron (Especially the first generation) had quite the showing. Nothing compared to what Classic Space had, but Blacktron didn't get featured in a couple The Lego Movie 2 sets, either. So I'll take what I can get.

First up we have this cute little "Drag-Rover" by David Alexander Smith. Nice use of the pan for greebling.

Next we have this interesting rover by Walter Whiteside Jr. with some unique and one-of-a-kind rare production parts. Looks like it is based on early concept art for Blacktron.

Walter also had this "Blacktron Joy Harvester" I really have no idea what goes on in that guy's head, to create such interesting creations...

To end it off, we have this badass rover by Frost. Not going to say anything about it. Just too badass for that.

I didn't build this, I swear.

This little rover (I don't know if it's for FebRovery or not....) checks off two big things in my books. It's Blacktron, and it's got an elephant pilot.

Why didn't I think of this? Lee H. Mee, you are a genius. A nicely designed rover, too.

A set that never was.

Imagine you are walking down an aisle in a toy store in the late 80s, and saw this sitting on a shelf. Walter Whiteside Jr. either has inside information, or a really good imagination, for he built this MOC that he says is based on the original Blacktron concept.

I'm quite certain if this was actually a set, it would be the strangest space set out there. It's kind of cool, but very strange at the same time.

Orbital Intruder

Had this moc sitting around for a long time now needing pictures.
This is actually a remake/upgrade of an older version of the ship. I never technically broke the original as I just "replaced" just about everything to it.

You can see more pictures here.

A beautiful little base

There are some mocs that are micro versions of sets that are just fantastic. This mini 6988 Alpha Centauri Outpost is one of those micros.
With a part usage such as the minifig visor this moc truly stands out as great build.
Flicker link It may be a older moc dating back to February of last year but deserves recognition.

It's amazing what you'll find while browsing google images.

Brickshelf still has the good stuff

Found this beauty on Brickshelf. Looking at it is a breath of fresh air for me as most fighters after a while seem to all feel like the same design. This however has it's own unique look that makes it stand out. I particularly like the use for the large Blacktron 1 panels for the side wings.
