To the death of the Classic Space guy, maybe! This SCARAB racer by Rubblemaker is ready to race against even the toughest opponents. even Sebulba would think twice about racing against the Blacktron SCARAB!

Weekend build
SHIPtember snuck up on me this year. I hadn't really thought about doing it this year, but then I was struck with an idea while at work. A bit of doodling with some graph paper, and BOOM! next thing I know, I want to build SHIPtember. I didn't have a lot of time, with getting ready for a convention in a couple of weeks, and I had not a lot of parts leftover (See previous post), and little table space. But that last one was easily fixed by putting the monorail base on the floor.
Built in less than 48 hours, It's probably my quickest SHIPtember build yet. Maybe one of my quickest SHIP builds ever. But I also didn't do any interior. Maybe later.

Time to flex.
This is my Blacktron collection, in case you didn't realize how serious my disability, I mean love for Blacktron is. Especially Blacktron 2.

Two was good, how about three?
When Lego randomly gives a number onto a Lego set name (Like Super Nova 2, Star Hawk 2, Star Defender 200), it just invites MOCers to build their own versions and enlarge the number. Paulo Carreira, a person after my own heart, has built a Super Nova III, an upgrade on one of the smaller Blacktron ships.
In the builders own words: "This was build to commemorate the 16th Anniversary of my LUG, Comunidade 0937, where we had to make a Redux of a LEGO set or wooden toy produced in the last 90 years. Of course I had to go for a Blacktron II vehicle since they're the coolest faction ever produced by LEGO." Well, at least one person agrees with me.

B is for Blacktron
This interesting fighter reminds me a lot of the B-Wing from Star Wars. I think the builder may have had that same thought, for he named the ship Blacktron-Wing
The cockpit makes me think of a standard Blacktron 2 style cockpit, with the use of two cockpit parts placed on their side.

Hammerhead Small Assault Frigate
Over the years I have devolved a few ship classes in my own Lego universe. Talana Class, Centauri Class, Orion Class, Gatria Class, and Hammerhead Class ships. A few MOCs don't fit into the categories I made, so I just call them Experimental class ships. The Epsilon Elnath was a good example of that. So was the Dalek. Wait... That's not a spaceship. Whatever.
Anyways, here is my latest Blacktron build, a Hammerhead Small Assualt Frigate. It's definitely the smallest Hammerhead Class ship I have built. Barely needs a crew.
It's almost more of a enlarged Blacktron 2 cockpit. Oh wait, tha's what it actually is! Just look at the resemblance:
It can even hook up to most of the Blacktron sets (All but the Arial Intruder, for obvious reasons.)
The sides even open like a standard pod!
At some point, maybe even soon, I want to delve into all the MOCs of each class of ship, how they came to be, distinct features of the ships, how I've improved my MOCing and photo taking skills... That's all for now though!
All the rest of the pictures can be found here.

Swoop down on the unsuspecting prey
The profile of this ship by The G Brix very much makes me think of a bird of prey swooping down it its, um, prey.
I think the yellow content is bit high here, but those engine intakes are cool enough, I'll let it pass. I don't think those parts come in black, after all.

Blacktron on the high seas!
Blacktron needs more boats. How about we get some more boats? Geoff Horswood built this Blacktron speed boat that really reminds me of modern type boats from the 90s.
Colour scheme is good. Not always easy to get it right, but it was done right on this MOC.

Smooth and sleek
There aren't enough remakes of 6933 Spectral Starguider. I've done a couple myself over the years, but this one by Martin Gebert is definitely more visually interesting that anything I could come up with.
It's a little heavy on the white, but other that it's a great MOC. Maybe a bit more curvy than my personal tastes, but that doesn't take away from this MOC.
But that radar dish. MMMMMM....

Is it that time of year already?
When I saw that this photo was tagged Febrovery, I thought "Man, this little rover must have gotten lost from the convoy, Febrovery was over months ago!"
Then I looked at the date and realized it was February. Time flies when your driving a little Blacktron rover
It's a recolouring of a Furturon set, but that didn't stop Luke Shutt from making it better. AKA, he coloured it Blacktron

Invading your space
This Aerial Intruder revamp is big enough it will seem like your personal space is gone when it swooshes by you. It uses one of the largest Lego parts, those wings to great effect.
Space Man Nathan isn't a stranger to this blog, and he does a wonderful job with this. I especially like those cockpits, they are quite unique.

Stomping all over the little Classic Space men
This giant upscaled Blacktron fig looks ready to pick up a Galaxy Explorer and toss it straight at the nearest Mega Core Magnetizer!
OR perhaps he is just going to terrorize the nearest Unitron Monorail. Either way, this upscale fig, which the builder, Jeffy O, states is based on the Harry Potter large scale figures. This Blacktron guy is a definite improvement. Now I want to see a Blacktron 2!

Orion's Eye
Wow, been some time since I posted something. Been even longer since I posted one of my own MOCS! I don't build as fast I used to, I used to be able to pound out a ship like this in a week, not a year and a half! Mind you, there were a few things to disrupt the building, like a move, getting married, some Bionicles. Those Bionicles.....
Anyways, here is my latest SHIP, the Orion's Eye:
This is based on an old MOC, from around 15 years ago. I had built a ship, pretty much the same size as this one, but never took pictures of it, because I was unsatisfied with the engines on it. Thankfully my dad happened to take a couple of pictures with my playing around with it. so I do have evidence of it's existence. I call the original "The Crashable Ship" for it's most notable feature, was that it looked really good crashed. Oddly enough, the only reason I built the first one, was to have a bigger spaceship built than a younger brother. The original "Alpha Orion" Look how young I was. Pretty sure I am making a swooshing noise. |
