Color it Blacktron Contest VII (7)
As per usual, when I do run the CiBC, I do it on the anniversary of the blog, April 21st. I am fairly certain the 21st.... Anyways, Contest!
CATEGORY 1: MODERNIZE A CLASSIC BLACKTRON 1 OR 2 SET!
Redesign a classic Blacktron, 1 or 2, set with modern parts and techniques! Just like Lego has done with the Renegade and Invader. Every Blacktron set needs an upgrade, and just because Lego did Renegade and Invader, doesn't mean you can't do better! creations in this category should not deviate in looks to the original source. No need to tell me what set you have chosen to remake. I know all the Blacktron sets. If I don't obviously see the source material, I reserve the right to transfer the MOC to Category #2
1st Place: A MISB 40580 Blacktron Cruiser
2nd Place: A used 6812 Grid Trekkor. Set is used, but has instructions AND BOX! A real collectors item, box is from my own person collection!

CATEGORY #2: BUILD A NEW MOC.
Built a Blacktron MOC that isn't an obvious remake of a set? Then it goes here. It's that simple.
1st place prize: Used 6878 Sub Orbital Guardian. Set is complete, good condition. Instructions are a maybe. box is a no.
2nd Place prize: TBD!
If anyone wishes to donate a prize, please contact me @ colouritblacktron@gmail.com.
ALL MOCS TO BE SUBMITTED TO COLOURITBLACKTRON@GMAIL.COM (Don't forget the U in there!!!!!) No need to tell me if it's category 1 or 2, I'll figure it out. Like I said, I'll instantly if it's based on a set. If it's not obvious, it category 2
CONTEST RULES:
#1 Builds must be Blacktron. I don't want a spec of Classic Space found, unless it's a stolen coffee maker inside your MOC.
#2 No Megablocks. Or off brand blocks of any kind.
#3 NEW MOCS ONLY.
#4 I won't disallow digital builds.... But I'll flat state I prefer real models. I also can be bribed.
#5 No rules on photography. 1 image? 100 images? editing? no editing? videos? I'm cool. as long as I can see the MOC, I'll accept it.
CONTEST DEADLINE IS JUNE 30TH.
Just about anything (Blacktron) goes in this contest, so START BUILDING BLACKTRON!
Any questions or Comments, refer to Flickr here, or email at colouritblacktron@gmail.com.

Contest incoming!
It's been a few years since the last one, but I'm getting ready to do another one!
Details will be coming soon, but I plan to have the contest starting on April 21s, as I always have done.
One reason why I haven't done one in the last few years is a lack of prizes and/or funds for prizes. If you are interested in donating a prize, email me at colouritblacktron@gmail.com (Make sure it's the U in colour, Canadian spelling. The blog has no U. The email does. Very important)

Starting Febrovery off with a bang
This is honestly the strangest Rover I have seen come out of any Febrovery, and I've seen a lot of whimsical ones. Walter Whiteside Jr often builds in the more whimsical side, but this City Rover tops the cake.
Regardless of its weirdness, it's pretty cool.

Star wars is great inspiration.
I've used Star Wars as an inspiration for a few of my Blacktron MOCs. Zack-Ta seems to have done the same. This Arial Assault Fighter looks like a mixture of the Allied Avenger, and a Jedi starfighter
There is also some clever parts usage. do you spot the Aquazone propeller housings?

2025, Year of the Upscaled Blacktron!
With the releases of the new 10355 Blacktron Renegade, I was inspired to upscale a Blacktron ship myself. I had been wanting to use the big 10x10 domes for an upscaled cockpit, so this was the perfect opportunity.
Just like the original ship it was based on, the cockpit can detach, and is still swappable with most Blacktron 2 ships!

Lean, mean, speedy machine
If you have at all paid attention to this blog (And I don't blame you if all you do is skim the pictures and don't read) then you'll know I love remakes of sets, and this latest Battrax remake really hits the spot. Much better than my own take on it.
(This blog is not sponsored by LEGO or by Blacktron, but I will gladly steal take your Lego donations!)
